A Brief History of Illustrious Sir Jack Hildebrand
I began my Masonic journey in February 1976 when I joined Ophir Masonic Lodge #112 in Beausejour, Manitoba. In October 1978, I became a member of the Khartum Shriners. I got involved right away, joining the Director's Staff Unit and participating in selling novelties at the Shriner Circus in Winnipeg in 1979. I soon took on the responsibility of inflating the many balloons for each of the circus.
Throughout the summer, I participated in numerous parades that the Khartum Shriners attended, such as those in Selkirk, Lac du Bonnet, Pinawa, and Gimli.
After I was elected to the Divan, I was honored to be made an honorary member of the Komedians Unit, and my clown name is "Snoozer." I take great joy in dressing up in makeup and walking in parades, greeting children and bringing smiles to their faces, especially when my grandchildren don’t recognize me.I had the honor of serving as the Potentate of the Khartum Shriners in 2016 and again in 2025. I remain active with my Masonic lodge and the Shriners, as I believe that the more involved you are, the greater the enjoyment you receive from it.
